Germany – Gas-distribution network – Cold Connection of Super-FRS BB to Branch G

For the connection of the Branch Box BB of the Super-FRS accelerator system at FAIR to the local experimentals branch G for the R3B and GLAD experiments about ninety meters of cryogenic and warm gas helium transfer lines have to be designed, produced and installed at the FAIR site. The four process headers for the 4 and 50 K supply and return are combined inside a DN 400 vacuum insulated main transfer line. This main line is partly accompanied a DN200 vacuum insulated single process line, called multi-purpose return line, by a DN 80 non-insulated 300 K helium warm gas supply line, and a DN 80 non-insulated current lead return line. These four parallel lines are called transfer line bundle (TLB).
