Germany – Gas-distribution network – Cold Connection DB3 to DB2

For the connection of the helium refrigerator CRYO2 to the local cryogenics of the Super-FRS accelerator system at FAIR and the CBM experimental about 360 meters of cryogenic and warm gas helium transfer lines and the distribution box system DB2 have to be designed, produced and installed at the FAIR site. The cryogenic distribution box system DB2 consist of two valves boxes including an integrated recooler The four process headers for the 4 and 50 K supply and return are combined inside a vacuum insulated main transfer line. This main line is partly accompanied a vacuum insulated single process line, called multi-purpose return line, by a non-insulated 300 K helium warm gas supply line, and a non-insulated current lead return line. These four parallel lines are called transfer line bundle (TLB). In addition two non-insulated lines (DN 300 and DN 150) connecting the CRYO2 compressors with the Cooldown and Warmup Unit CWU are to be planned and installed.
