🇮🇪Monaghan County Council·Ireland
Full Description
The project will create a plaza overlooking the Wee Abbey and will repurpose the derelict Lennard Arms Hotel to a Visitor Interpretive Centre. The proposal will demolish the kitchen area, dance hall and leave a hard-landscaped streetscape area in the centre. Works to hotel building to include filling of basement, removal of floors, structural supports to the building, creation of openings in the building to provide windows to view from outside, creation of glass panel in roof and placing mezzanine floors. Other parts of the Hotel currently used for storage are former plantation houses along Annalore Street, and it is proposed that the project will turn these buildings into period and budget accommodation. External works to include pedestrian pathways and connections to all existing services and all associated site works. The final design may involve new interventions and sustainable solutions including energy efficiency technologies.
