Ireland – Construction work for pipelines, communication and power lines, for highways, roads, airfields and railways; flatwork – Connection of Keash GWS to Public Water Network and Upgrade of Existing Network
🇮🇪Keash Group Water Scheme·Ireland
Full Description
The proposed works consist of the installation of approximately 4.5km of 125mm OD PE100 SDR17/SDR11 interconnector main and new booster station between the existing Uisce Eireann (IrishWater) 125mm OD main, which is located in the R295 road in the Townland of Cross. The new main is to be installed and then Uisce Eireann (Irish Water) will make the connection to the newly installed main. The new 125mm OD Pe100 SDR17 interconnector main will be installed between the connection point to the new mains booster station that is to be installed in Keash village. From the new mains booster station, approximately 2.5Km of 125mm OD PE100 SDR11 rising main will be installed up to the access road leading up to the RWTP, where the new main will be connected to the existing rising main running between Lough Labe and the RWTP. A 180mm bypass main and associated valves are to be installed to bypass the existing RWTP. Once the new rising main and bypass have been installed and connected to the existing supply main, the existing RWTP, the existing rising main and pumps, located at Lough Labe, can be de-commissioned. The new interconnector and rising mains will be located in field, road, road transverse crossings, verge, and road set-back areas in front of properties. In general, the installation will be by open excavation and by directional drilling (HDD) in the road and areas where the verge is less than 0.5m wide, where directed by the ER. There are areas on the rising main where the installation will be carried out by directional drilling (HDD) due the main being installed in Special Areas of Conservation (SAC). As the new main is specifically for the delivery of a supply to the existing reservoir from the existing Uisce Eireann (Irish Water) 125mmOD main, no existing consumer service connections will be transferred to the new main. The works also involve the installation of additional valves and fittings to the existing network in order to bring it up to a standard for Taking in Charge by Uisce Éireann (Irish Water). The Scope of the Works can be summarised as follows: i. Installation of approximately 4,500m of 125mm OD PE100 SDR11 and SDR17 interconnector and rising mains. ii. Installation of a mains booster station. iii. Installation of associated mains valves and fittings. iv. Disposal of surplus materials excavated from works.
