Ireland – Construction work for engineering works except bridges, tunnels, shafts and subways – Construction of the Protected Road Section of the M28 Project from Barnahely to Ringaskiddy

The Protected Road Section of the M28 Project from Barnahely to Ringaskiddy proposes the provision of approximately 1.5km of single carriageway. The scope of works of this contract involves construction of: - 1.5km of mainline single carriageway protected road from Barnahely to east of Ringaskiddy; - 3 at‐grade roundabouts at Barnahely, Loughbeg and east of Ringaskiddy village; - Provision for footpaths and cycle facilities; - Significant earthworks operations will include both large embankments and cuttings; - Drainage system, including attenuated outfalls and culverts; - Provision of 1 shared use pedestrian and cyclist underpass at Old Post Office Road; - Provision of 1 accommodation underpass; - Provision of 3 retaining walls - Accommodation works and farm accesses as required; - Relocation of utilities including a high voltage electricity pylon at Loughbeg; - Landscaping and environmental mitigation measures; and - Ancillary works including road restraint systems, ducting, pavement, kerbing, traffic signs and road markings, road lighting and intelligent transport systems.
