Finnfund is looking for a (one) long term full-time work consultant to support Finnfund and Finnfund’s investee companies in Environmental and Social and Impact work for investments in digital infrastructure and applications under EFSD+ (https://international-partnerships.ec.europa.eu/funding-and-technical-assistance/funding-instruments/european-fund-sustainable-development-plus-efsd_en) guarantee Africa Connected (the Programme). As a member of Finnfund’s investment teams, the consultant will participate in preparation and monitoring Finnfund’s investment in accordance with the highest international standards. This entails pre-investment due diligence (DD) work in accordance with international and Finnfund requirements, and subsequent monitoring and support to the companies. The Consultant will work as part of Finnfund’s deal teams and will be stationed in Finnfund’s offices in Helsinki and/or Nairobi. The Consultant will work at Finnfund's Helsinki office for the first two (2) months from the moment the Consultant is available to the Client. The work will require frequent travelling to visit Finnfund’s (potential) investee companies across Sub-Saharan Africa. Travel and accommodation expenses and daily allowances are reimbursed in accordance with the valid Finnish State Travel Regulations The Finnish State Travel Regulations (Annex 1.4 “Collective agreement concerning compensation for travel expenses”). A place of work in accordance with the state travel regulations is considered to be either the Customer's Helsinki office or an office located in Nairobi, depending on which office the Consultant is working at. No travel or accommodation expenses incurred by the Consultant family will be reimbursed but such expenses must be included in the prices paid for the Service in accordance with the Price Annex. “Full-time basis" means that the consultant is available to the client and therefor the consultant's working hours during the six-week monitoring period is average 37.5 hours per week. The service provider is obliged to monitor the consultant's accumulated working hours and report monthly to the client on the working hours of the consultant. For the avoidance of doubt, the client will not reimburse any additional costs or costs that may arise because of exceeding the consultant's working hours. The agreement enters into force when the agreement is signed by both parties. The agreement is valid for a fixed term until 31 January 2027 (the "Actual Contract Period"). The Client has the right to extend the contract for a new fixed-term term (“Option Period”) so that the contract ends on 31 December 2029. The Client notifies the exercise of the Option Period no later than six months before the end of the Actual Contract Period. The Parties have the right to terminate the Agreement within six (6) months from the date both Parties sign the Agreement as agreed in the agreement. If EU funding that affects the subject of the agreement ceases during the contract period, the agreement will cease and/or the Client will cease to procure the Services on the basis of the agreement. The contract does not include any obligation to buy the service, nor does it give any exclusive right to the services stipulated in the call for tenders. The consultant must be available to the customer on a full-time basis no later than two months after signing the contract. During Option Period the amount of work is estimated to be less.
