Finland – Ammunition – Participation application request for Point Detonating Fuze (PD) and Multi-Option Fuze (MOF)

Finnish Defence Forces is procuring Point Detonating Fuzes (“The PD”) and Multi-Option Fuzes ( “The MOF”), which are used with the Finnish artillery guns (155 K9FIN, 155 K 98 and 155 K 83-97). Approximated requested amount of Point Detonating Fuzes is 120.000 pcs and Multi-Option Fuzes 30.000 pcs during years 2026 - 2028. Procurement includes options. Few critical technical requirements regarding the product as following: The PD and the MOF shall be compatible with the gun specified according to Joint Ballistics Memorandum of Understanding (JBMoU) specifications. The PD and the MOF shall be compatible with the K9FIN weapon system and its subsystems such as loading device, ammunition stowage. The PD and the MOF shall be compatible with NATO standard 2” fuze cavity according to STANAG 2916 Ed. 3 and AOP-68 Ed. A Ver. 1 (Figure 1). The PD and the MOF shall be able to be used in climatic conditions C1, A3 according to AECTP-230. The PD and the MOF shall be able to be stored, maintained, transported in climatic conditions C2, A3 according to AECTP-230. During the life cycle the PD and the MOF shall be safe to store, transport and handle and remain workable in field conditions. The PD and the MOF shall be usable and operable in all weather and visibility conditions including high relative humidity, rain, dust and snowfall without any special arrangements. The PD and the MOF shall be settable manually. The PD and the MOF shall be safe to use and be functional after the drop of 1.5 meters if no visible damage. Explosives used in ammunition shall be qualified in accordance with STANAG 4170. All materials used in PD and the MOF shall be chemically compatible with each other. The life cycle of PD and the MOF shall be at least 10 years from the purchase order date. The packages shall fulfill the international regulations of transporting dangerous goods ADR, RID, IATA and IMDG-C. The hazard classification of the PD and the MOF shall be tested and determined according to Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria given by UN. The product shall meet REACH-requirements. More exact technical requirements will be published later in the Request for Quotation.
