Finland – Research and development services and related consultancy services – Scientific and technical support work related to hazard assessment and identification, including regulatory support of work on CLP, Dossier and Substance Evaluation, POPs, DWD and future tasks under certain water protection directives
🇫🇮European Chemicals Agency·Finland
Full Description
The main objective of Lot 1 is to provide services helping to close knowledge gaps in key areas related to the Human Health hazard assessment of industrial chemicals, and biocides and pesticides. This Lot requires expertise in support of 3Rs (replace, reduce and refine) approaches and knowledge on qualified in silico, in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to detect potential hazardous chemicals and understand the underlying mechanisms of toxicity.
The main objective of Lot 2 is to provide services helping to close knowledge gaps in key areas related to the ecotoxicology hazard and environmental fate assessment of industrial chemicals, biocides and pesticides. This Lot requires expertise in support of 3Rs (replace, reduce and refine) approaches and knowledge on qualified in silico, in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to detect potential hazardous chemicals and understand the underlying mechanisms of toxicity and of their environmental fate.
This Lot 3 focusses on the assessment of the endocrine disruption properties of chemicals, both from a human and environmental health perspective. The scope of Lot 3 relates to endocrine disruption (ED) testing as described in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD’s) Conceptual Framework (CF) for the Testing and Assessment of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (OECD 2018). While this CF predominantly includes studies that address ED effects via Estrogen, Androgen, Steroidogenesis and Thyroid pathways, ED effects that may occur via other endocrine pathways (e.g., the retinoid receptor) are also included in the scope.
Under the lot 4, the Contracting authority will request support for different regulatory processes (e.g., Dossier and Substance Evaluation, POP, CLH, OEL setting, water related directives tasks etc.). For each specific contract the contractor is expected to collect information (trough, for e.g., conducting literature reviews, surveys etc.) to assist with the qualitative or quantitative assessment of the hazard and/or risk towards human health and/or the environment or socio-economic impact of substance(s) going through any of the regulatory processes mentioned below. The contractor may also be asked to make an initial analysis of the information gathered or provide an expert review on particular topics related to hazard and/or risk assessment and/or socio-economic impact analyses.
