Ireland – Security, fire-fighting, police and defence equipment – Portable Digital X-Ray Systems and Sources to the Irish Defence Forces

The Irish Defence Forces requires a modern portable digital X-Ray system to be used across the range of EOD Operations including Conventional Munitions Disposal (CMD), Improvised Explosive Device Defeat and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear explosive Device Defeat (CBRNeDD) operations. The system is intended for use in operations occurring in Ireland as well as overseas as part of Irish Defence Forces deployments. The system should be portable and capable of being deployed and used by an operator while utilising standard PPE associated with EOD and CBRN operations. The X-ray system shall comprise of an X-Ray generator, a digital plate for obtaining the image and a tablet equipped with the software for controlling the system as well as viewing and manipulating the images obtained etc. The X-ray system procured shall replace the current X-Ray system employed by Irish Defence Forces EOD teams.
