This specific contract notice is part of the ongoing Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) 22-SAD-S002-GO "Green Overseas Expertise Network". Operators are invited to integrate the DPS in order to bid when the call for tender is published on the French procurement platform "PLACE". Once registered in the DPS, operators will be able to access the full tender documents and any potential updates as they become available. The indicative submission deadline is the 11/11/2024. The overall objective of the action is to contribute to ensuring the resilience of the water supply for Falklands' capital, Stanley, in the face of climate change. The action aims to provide the Falkland Island Government with a range of costed options for increasing the capacity of water supply in light of current limitations, projected water demands as well as anticipated climate change effects. The specific objectives of this action are: 1. To conduct a detailed analysis of the current water production system in Stanley and to create an understanding into the current capacity and limitations of the current public water supply in view of possible population growth. 2. To review relevant climate change trends or scenarios for Falkland, with focus on Stanley, leading to insights on implications for future precipitation. 3. To calculate of the catchment area size et storage capacity needed to meet the most likely water demand scenario and expected precipitation. 4. To conduct hydrological study geared at assessing the technical feasibility of current catchment area expansion or new catchment area development. 5. To evaluate financial, environmental et social perspectives for catchment capacity expansion and to present overall conclusions and recommendations based hereupon. 6. To design a monitoring plan and measurement infrastructure for the current water supply which can serve as an early warning system for improving the resilience of the water supply. Optional: To evaluate the feasibility of desalination as a means to enhance water security.
