Norway – Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) services other than for construction – Updated knowledge basis on measures for climate and ecological condition in forestry.

The Norwegian Environment Agency and the Norwegian Agriculture Agency collaborate on the development of the knowledge basis for measures for increased absorption and reduced emissions of climate gases from the forest and area use sector and measures that can maintain or improve the ecological state of forestry. Climate and nature are mutually dependent on each other, and the directorates therefore need a comprehensive knowledge basis where relevant connections and influences between climate and nature are included, as well as any trade-offs/synergies between them are highlighted. The directorates would like professional assistance with updating the knowledge basis in the long term to have a total assessment of how measures in forestry can be facilitated with climate or ecological condition as the main aim. Before it is possible to assess the effect of measures for ecological condition in forests, a presentation is needed. In addition an assessment is wanted of climate, environment and business effects of all relevant devices.
